Are you passionate about wool? Do you want to get involved with GFAC?
We want to encourage other people to start their own flocks using their local wool. Throughout the UK, sheep farmers are struggling to find a viable market for their fleece. We want it, you want it. Start your own project and connect your local wool producers to your local textile community.
Get in touch and we will work with you to get things rolling. One day there will be a network of flocks across the country and then maybe the world!
June 2011 – ScotFlock
Our SW flock now have cousins in Scotland! ScotFlock has started so if you want to get involved sourcing Scottish wool, The Wool Bothy is the person to contact. If you’re on Ravelry, search for ‘ScotFlock’, on Twitter search ‘@ScotFlock’, or post a comment here and I’ll pass your details on. I’ll add more info and images as I get them.

I saw your article in the local newspaper about fleeces. We have rare breed Cotswold sheep and have some spare fleeces if anyone is interested in them.
Hi Fiona
Thanks for contacting me; I’d love some of your fleece. Will be in touch.
Regards, Claire
I love to spin and weave and handknit with British wool and I am very interested in your initiative -I want to wish you good luck and every success!
Kind regards,
Carole
Your first Scottish sheep is on its way to you. It’s a cyber-sheep & I’ve emailed her to you.
Best wishes & many, many thanks,
Caroline.
Thanks, Caroline.
ScotFlock is the new flock that has begun in Scotland. If you’re interested in getting involved, contact them through Ravelry (search ‘ScotFlock’) or post a comment here and I’ll pass on your details.
